I have no idea where the kisses got their name, but I can think of a few varieties (best said in the voice of the Target cashier from SNL):
You have your milk choco-late kisses, and your pea-nut butter kisses, and your al-mond kisses...
Turns out it has to do with the machine that makes the kisses...it looks like it's kissing the conveyor belt!
