Take me out to ball game, take me out with the TRIVIA QUIZ!

Today's trivia quiz is brought to you by the Seattle Mariners! Opening day is less than a week away, and as one of my co-workers pointed out, they can't be more than one game back after opening day.

What's the distance from the pitcher's rubber to home plate on a baseball diamond?

Good luck :)

At last, a question I know the answer to! The distance between bases is 90 feet, but the distance between the pitcher's mound and home plate is just 60 feet, 6 inches. Makes you wonder how anyone's able to hit one of those 95 mph fastballs....

JD beat me to it, but yes, 60 feet 6 inches! Now what's the standard height of the mound?

Can't wait for opening day!

Yup, you're both right on the 60 feet, 6 inches. I'm wondering how they determined that, since if my geometry's correct it should be about 63.6 feet (90 feet from home to 1st, 90 feet from 1st to second...so you've got a right triangle...OW, my head hurts!)

Hmm, as for the height, I'm going to have to say a foot. Just a guess!
