Today is Chief Seattle Day. The Lutheran Church commemorates Chief Seattle of the Duwamish, who was famous for his environmental statement that said the land belongs to no one and everyone. Hooray!!
Today is also Betamax Day, marking Sony’s introduction of the first videocassette recorder on this date in 1975. It sold for $995 and eventually disappeared as consumers preferred VHS-format VCRs, introduced later. This is interesting since we're currently in the middle of the blu-ray/HD-DVD war...

Well, I hope it's not a bear or a moose, since we're likely to see plenty of those in Alaska! I think it's actually the hippo, believe it or not....
hmmm, i guess i'd say a horse. not to say they are dangerous or anything - i love the ponies - but humans have a lot of interaction with them as compared to other animals. so, that'll be my scientific answer.
I'm going to say dogs, I think pit bulls kill a lot of people. Also I'm now thinking of your former roomate insisting that people call him "Seattle" when he was wearing his hat... hope you are having fun in Alaska!
