Now I've Had the Time of my TRIVIA QUIZ!

I must apologize for the unexplained blog hiatus! I was a tad busy here at work and didn't have a chance to update. Now back to the blogging!

Today is Cadillac Day. The first Cadillac was built on this day in 1902.

Today is Hawaii Day. Hawaii became the 50th U.S. state on this date in 1959. Welcome aboard, Hawaii!

On this day in 1887, Phillies’ pitcher Dan Casey struck out in the 9th inning of a game against the New York Giants. The event inspired Ernest L. Thayer to write the classic poem "Casey at the Bat."

On this day in 1987, the movie Dirty Dancing opened throughout North America. It starred Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey, and Jerry Orbach. This movie was filmed in NC!

On this day in 1997, children on bicycles in Granite City, Illinois, cornered and captured a 5-year-old stray dog nicknamed Cookie that had run loose for at least five days with a bubblegum jar stuck on her head. Cookie apparently had tried to drink rain water out of the jar. The Humane Society saw to it that Cookie fully recovered.

Now for some trivia: What city did Ferris Bueller run around on his day off in Ferris Bueller's Day Off?

Good luck :)

Welcome back, R-dogg! I've missed you ;)

Funny you should ask, since we were just talking about this movie yesterday at work. It's My Kind of Town, the Windy City, the Second City...that's right, Chicago!

P.S. I used to be able to recite all of Casey at the Bat by memory. Does this surprise anyone?
