Thank you for flying National Airlines. Please stow your carry-on baggage in the overhead storage TRIVIA QUIZ!

Sorry for the break in service. We now return you to our regularly scheduled trivia quiz:

Today is Human Rights Day and the beginning of Human Rights Week.

Today is Do Something Wild and Crazy With Velveeta Day.

Today is Mississippi Admission Day. It became the 20th U.S. state on December 10, 1817.

On this day in 1958, the first passenger jet flight took place in the U.S. as a National Airlines Boeing 707 flew 111 passengers from New York to Miami in about two and a-half hours.

On this day in 1981, The New England Journal of Medicine reported a new rare and fatal disease that had killed 95 people. The disease later would be called AIDS.

On this day in 2003, a man who stole a police car from outside a Sao Paulo police station in Brazil was arrested after he crashed into a tree just a few yards away. The 23-year-old thief was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by police. The man was treated for minor injuries and taken straight to jail.

OK, trivia time: What award was Jane Addams the first American woman to receive on this day in 1931?

Good luck :)

Welcome back!

A guess here, but how about a Nobel Prize? For what, I'm not sure. I don't recall her winning a Peace Prize...

Colby, Swiss AND cheddar? Wowie. That is one cheesy processed cheese spread!

Oh, and no clue on the trivia quiz but I think Nobel Prize is a good guess. I'll say she won for Science.

Nice guesses, folks! She did win the Nobel Peace Prize...she was a co-recipient that year.

Mark, thanks, it's good to be back :)

Laine, can you believe they pack that many natural cheeses into each brick of Velveeta? Perhaps that should win the Nobel Prize for Science!
