When you care enough to send the TRIVIA QUIZ!

Today is National Noodle Ring Day.

Today is Hallmark TV Commercials Appreciation Day. Ok, confession time: who out there has ever cried at a Hallmark commercial?

Today is Independence Day in Burkina Faso.

On this day in 1946, the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) was established.

On this day in 1951, Joe DiMaggio announced his retirement from baseball. Playing 13 years only for the New York Yankees, Joltin' Joe's lifetime batting average was .325. His 56-game hitting streak still stands as a record. Joe's brothers, Vince and Dom, also were major-league players.

On this day in 1977, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally won an NFL game by defeating New Orleans 33-14. The Bucs had lost their first 26 regular season games, 11 by shutout.

On this day in 1995, Reuter news service reported that Santa Claus was being flown from the U.S. to teach British Father Christmases to be more jolly. The 130-store Index chain had imported a U.S. Santa teacher to help British Father Christmases to get the "ho-ho-hos" right.

How about some fun holiday trivia? Artificial Christmas trees out-sell real ones every year. What year did artificial Christmas tree sales surpass real tree sales?

Good luck :)

The answer is 1991! The interesting thing to me is that that means people are converting each year, since artificial tree customers aren't repeat buyers.

Hey - that's a really good point. That means that by now the number of people putting up fake trees way outnumbers those putting up real ones. I hadn't thought of it that way!
