Hail, Mary, full of TRIVIA QUIZzes!

Today is Holy Innocents Day, commemorating the massacre of children in Bethlehem ordered by King Herod in an attempt to kill the child Jesus. Uplifting!

Today is National Chocolate Day. OK, I feel like I've seen this one a few times...

Today is Iowa Admission Day. Iowa became the 29th U.S. state on this date in 1846. Welcome, buckeyes!

On this day in 1869, William F. Semple of Mount Vernon, Ohio, patented chewing gum.

On this day in 1945, Congress officially recognized the patriotic "Pledge of Allegiance" to the U.S. flag.

On this day in 1975, trailing 14-10 with only 32 seconds left and no time outs, from 50 yards out Roger Staubach hit Drew Pearson in a crowd at the goal-line to give Dallas the NFC title over Minnesota. In a post-game interview, Staubach said, "You throw it and pray he catches it. I guess it=s sort of a 'Hail Mary' pass."

OK, random trivia time: About 45% of American women say they cried at their wedding. How many men say they cried?

Good luck :)

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everybody! Jen, I appreciated the shout-out on your own blog, too!

The answer is 25%...just like JD said. Of course, this comes from Uncle John's Bathroom Reader, so I'm not sure how scientific the study was.
